LoveSexy Review

LoveSexy... well there was Love in the plenty and just as much (if not more) Sexy as well... a little tongue-in-cheek there... hehe. Now that was really a ?four-seasons day? - but hey, on the whole everything went just fine from where I stood. I must admit that this was my first LoveSexy at the beach, last year I couldn't attend for some reason, but I've seen what I have missed and I'm quite regretting it.

First off, let's take a few minutes to find our innermost centre and connect with the divine powers above... hopefully we'll get the taste of some mind-boggling beat. LoveSexy proved to me that God himself is, probably, a deejay of some sort after all... and a fan of the whole enterprise as well. When I got up in the morning I resigned myself to either a day in or an unforeseen trip to Paceville. Lo' and behold the sun managed to make itself through the grey... much to everybody's surprise and delight. So with the whole weather situation in check I made my way up to Paradise bay.

There was a bit of a long way before getting to the designated entrance point, in fact? generous? minivan drivers where offering me and my friends a lift for a couple of Euros, which in my opinion is a bit of a stupid thing to do... especially in the light of day. Walking back's another story entirely though... in the eventuality that you're a bit drunk and you're footing is off balance. I wouldn't suggest anybody in that sort of situation to take that trip back alone, especially considering that on either side of the road you've got rocky plains and, more interestingly, cliffs. Anyway, as I got to the entrance I was rather surprised by the high amount of security there, it could be that there was just as much police and security personnel as usual and that the amount seemed greater since that everything was taking place out in the open. I thought to myself; with those checks it’s going to take us forever to get inside... fortunately I was proven wrong, ID checks went smoothly and the barriers leading to the bay proved not to be a hassle after all ? So congrats for that.

Down by the sea's where all the real stuff of reviews was taking place. No  scene would have described what Malta has to offer better during summer than the one before us all. The whole area was divided into several smaller areas with the beach being a common point for all ticket holders. I enjoyed this because the whole layout didn't constrain me to single fixed point, which was a relief actually. Of course this past remark might seem as if I'm pointing out the obvious with LoveSexy being an open air event but all of the areas had something worth visiting going on so travelling from one end to the other wasn't a so much a bore but rather something to look forward to. The main stage was set above the beach but unfortunately it didn't overlook it, even though it occupied a small area where people gathered quite nicely to cheer for those playing. Having said that Laidback Luc's performance was well suited to both the setting and also to the people's expectations. All of the areas were nicely packed throughout the entire evening with Ruby's Sunset Sundays section generating a great attendance in particular. Evenings at Paradise are truly memorable, the place itself is already enough to get you into that ?the world is mine? mood... LoveSexy was heightened that sense to its very best.

Great start to the holidays, fantastic music and a perfect spot... I'd like to see any other beach party top this off. In fact I dare anybody to produce something better... impress me. LoveSexy was in my books, a blast ? for want of a better word. Congrats to those who oversaw the whole of it... will be looking forward to what's next as always.
